Jolly Blogger Day 2—Smeared Ink Challenge

Deck the Halls (or those who leave you to decorate all alone!)

At Smeared and Smudged Ink, we’re jolly blogging again which means this is the second odd numbered day in December! Check out the forum at So what makes a Jolly Blogger? Our fearless leaders on the forum invited those of us who dared to post a 12 Days of Christmas, Smeared and Smudged style. Posts go up each odd numbered day in December up until THE big day. Those who survive the whole time can win a great prize from Smeared Ink ( BUT even if you didn’t get in to the blogging, you can still win! Click those links on your right ——–> and visit each blog & leave a comment as a Merry Hopper. If you do that all month long, you’ll be entered to win a great prize too! Cool, huh?
Now each of the 12 days you’ll be seeing some fantastic and kind of funky stamped goodies but some of the days, you’ll be seeing another theme on Smeared Ink days. Today is the first of those. What is a Smeared Ink day? Bloggers are encouraged (and bribed just a little with an extra entry for the prize) to  create projects using only Smeared Ink stamps (rubber or digi) on those days. And without further adieu,
I started with that blank manila shipping label again (4 3/4″ by 2 3/8″) (and I promise they won’t all be tags ;)) and topped that with a Christmas patterned paper I received in a swap. Using green textured cardstock scrap, I snipped to resemble a Christmas tree and topped that with Studio G green glitter writer. All that was adhered to the tag. The sentiment was hand written and trimmed with the glitter glue too. The lovely lady is Contortionist Carnie, a digi stamp, from Smeared Ink. I resized her just a bit in Paint, printed her and colored her in with Bic Markers and Cretacolor Watercolor pencils. Trimmed her closely with my trusty CutterBee scissors and tangled her in some lights from an ornament kit from JoAnn’s. I think someone promised to help her decorate “after checking the score of the game” 🙂 and now she’s in quite a pickle and not so much in the Christmas spirit!

feeling less than jolly

Thanks for stopping by! Your comments are always welcomed and be sure to follow the whole hop, commenting as you go for your chance to win! Happy Crafting, P!
P.S. Several of you noticed the Merry Gentlemen weren’t. When I came across that stamp recently, I knew they would have to join the hop and, hopefully, they’ll find the spirit soon enough.

P.S. to that P.S. LOL! I’ll be back on Saturday with a new Twisted Sketches card to share and then again, I’ll be back for more Jolly Blogging–it’s a crafty weekend.  Hope to see you here!
