Steampunk Honeymoon—Smeared and Smudged Ink Member Blog Hop January 2011

The theme for this first member blog hop of the new year is “New”. Try something you haven’t before. I’ve been wanting to give Steampunk a try but first I have to tell you—> this project was originally a wallhanging mixed media, then an art quilt or tote, and finally, I settled on Steampunk. Then I wondered, “how would a steampunk couple take a honeymoon?” And here is kind of what I saw–I can see it evolving further but here’s my first try.

Steampunk Honeymoon

The basket stamp is from Great Impressions. The clock with wings stamp is from a rock and roll clear stamps set (EDIT: from Hampton Art). The background is a freebie from Postscript at Stampington and Co. printed on copy paper and attached to a 4″x6″ chipboard.  Ranger Archival Black Ink and Vintage Photo distress ink. The photo is a scan and altered one I had (they had a son but I didn’t figure he would go on this adventure ;)). Various watch parts and silver plastic beading chain held down with E6000. Hope you enjoy. I apologize for the late morning post. Please be sure to visit all the blogs as listed on the right for some wonderful projects and inspiration! Happy Crafting! P
