Simply Betty Blog Hop

Simply Betty is celebrating the release of some brand spanking new Summer Teen Zombies and the Smeared Ink Design Team have joined the Simply Betty designers to showcase them in a blog hop today!

Simply Betty Summer Teen Zombie, Miller

I chose to work with the Summer Zombie Miller digi.  The finished size here is 6″ x 6″.  I printed him at 3.5″x5″ on white Georgia Pacific cardstock.  His skin tones began with a beige Sharpie. layered over with a blue colored pencil from Crayola, with purple shadows added in.  His trunks, flippers and pal are colored with Sharpies, while his hair, exposed muscles, goggles, snorkle and brain are colored pencil.  He was cut out and edged with black marker.  His towel is a scrap of a party napkin (Transformers).  The background began as bare chipboard, that was coated evenly with Plaid Acrylic gesso.  After that dried, the word “pool” and the arrow were stenciled on and colored in with marker.  The “floor” is 2.5″x6″ of gray cardstock, colored with Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage photo using an ink blending tool & direct to paper on the edge where it meets the wall.  This was adhered to the chipboard and drybrushed with the gesso.  No fancy techniques here but Miller wants you to know (written in black ultrafine Sharpie on the floor) that “SO WHILE THE VAMPS AND THE WEREWOLVES FOUGHT, THE REALLY HOT CHICKS DISCOVERED ZOMBIES, AND THE REST, AS THEY SAY, IS HISTORY.” ;). Hope you enjoy him–he’ll be back with teen zombie insights soon.

There’s a whole gang of summer teen zombies and regular teen zombies to enjoy. AND Simply Betty has been kind enough to sponsor some challenges at the Smeared and Smudged Ink forum (http://smearedandsmudged.ning.com) for May so IF you play along, you could win a few zombies of your own.  Check them out at http://simplybettystamps.com , and see what they’ll get into at your house.  But first, check out the fabulous creations here:
