Pixie Playhouse

The theme is Nature so each post will include some natural element and something stamped. I’ve created a Pixie Playhouse…
I began with a wooden birdhouse from JoAnn’s. We’ve had some recent storms with heavy winds that yielded scraps of bark and lichen, that I used to cover the walls of the hut. I especially like the bark on the back.
The top and lower edge are covered with green moss that I had bought at Dollar Tree around Halloween. There’s some dried rug juniper trimmings from last year when it tried to take over our sidewalk, a daisy, and some lilac & lavendar blossoms. The “chimney” is a seedpod from a Purple Coneflower and there’s a little dried sedum mixed in. And then I discovered I didn’t have a Pixie to fit!
The Pixie is made from an angel from the Classic Icons set from TPC clear stamps. The wings are borrowed from a butterfly from the Que Sera Sera set of clear stamps from K&Co. They’re stamped with Jet Black Stazon ink and colored in with pencils, fussy cut and mounted.
Hope you like it! Please visit the other blogs for loads more inspiration from the participating members at Smeared and Smudged Ink.

Holy crow, I am so in love with this! I cannot tell you how long I have wanted to make a grove of homes for the fey. This is so beautiful! I love that you used things you found in your yard, and didn’t just buy everything. Found objects just add to the magick, no? You did a really beautiful job, and have re-inspired me to create these teeny homes.
