And NOW, I will stop changing the themes and share this…

LOL.  I’ve also joined a journal swap at Willowing, am taking the Strathmore workshops again (sooon—Starting March 1, go sign up now and join me in anxiously waiting it out!!), and am finally following through on some artist/sketch journaling that I hope will lead to some stand alone art pieces.  I gave up painting and knitting about the time my youngest opened her beautiful little peepers because her vision is great and her hands are quick!! The great thing is she is quite the artist herself, like her big bro but he didn’t take to it quite as much and has entered that self judging stage where his art is concerned *SIGH*.

Reaching out of my comfort zone

I recently received this circle journal asking for Reflections of Me, and I really enjoyed reading the other submissions. HOWEVER staring right down the throat of a 39th birthday and knowing that once both my children are in school all day every day (both coming much too soon), I’ve been doing my own soul searching, trying to decide who I am now, beyond “Mommy” (which is still most important) and what I want to be when I grow up LOL. Just the same, I am a private person by nature and exposing my creations to you is one thing. Exposing my thoughts is something else entirely. Likewise, designing a layout may be my strongest weakness so don’t expect anything fancy. I typed my journaling, edited, retyped, edited and finally decided to just handwrite it in a chain of consciousness which opened the flood gates. I’m also going to enter this in my first Random Redhead Challenge at Gingersnap Creations (GC48: Growth)-http://gingersnapcreations.blogspot.com/2010/03/gc48-random-redhead-challenge-growth.html-you have until April 25 to jump in on this challenge. Reflections of Me CJ page 1CJ Reflections of Me pg 2 The base of these is DCWV Mod-Retro Stack. The black cardstock is punched with a Martha Stewart Doily Border Punch. Journaling is handwritten. The white chipboard hearts are Heidi Swapp. Lace is from JoAnn’s as is the mirror. The flowers and green metal trim are from Portafolio. The leaves are from a silk rose and the young hula dancer is me around age 3 or 4. The background papers were distress inked with Hint of Pesto Dew Drops chalk ink. Hope you enjoy. So what do you see when you look in the mirror??

 Happy Crafting! Paula

This isn’t what I had in mind but…

it’s been too long since I posted. I joined my first Circle Journal last spring and my completed version should be arriving home anytime in the next month. I can’t wait! And since it was so fun,
I decided to join another that is starting this September and should end next spring. I thought I’d share my starter pages with you. I’m hoping to build an inspiration album/artist’s journal/quotes collector. Not too much to ask of my circle, I hope! So here’s my pages…
ALSO a HUGE THANK YOU for just dropping by to check out my blog. I’m hoping this is the first of many return visits for you, or that you’ve discovered something that will bring you back if this is your first visit. Meanwhile, happy crafting!!
