What I’ve been up to (at least part of the time)…

and trying to learn about my camera & revive my green-ish thumb to provide sketching subjects.

It seems it’s been FOREVER since I posted and I’ve missed ya! Hope you’ve missed me too. (fluttering eyelashes, slightly pouty lower lip) so…last spring I coached my dd’s t-ball team and in the fall I coached her soccer team.  I picked up a little extra work from spring to fall.  THEN in October, my beloved aunt passed away after being in failing health for about 4 months, rapidly progressing the last 6 weeks.

Then life got interesting, heh heh.  I got a sinus infection then developed walking pneumonia while on the antibiotic around the first of November.  A couple of “colds” later, and in January, still having the cough and a new sinus infection, they wanted to test me for whooping cough.  The only good news there was that if it was whooping cough, I had already been treated AND I was midway of the duration.  Feeling better now but still tire easily and cough some evenings, esp. if it’s cold.

BUT I did manage to start back to being a bit creative this year 🙂 YAY!  With everything going on last year, I hadn’t had time to continue on my design team duties and honestly hadn’t done much crafting on my own.   So enjoy….

Seashells by the Seashore

See me in the July 17, 2011 edition of Scrapbook News and Review

Asian theme Bookmarks

I joined a bookmark swap at Gingersnaps Creations with a theme of “travel”—I haven’t ever been to the Orient but enjoy the serenity of the meditation gardens, etc. I forgot to photograph these at home so they’re on the top of my car {blush} in the picture at the post office! The stamps are from two sets of Inkadinkado clear stamps. Cardstock is Recollections and DCWV. The charms are from Michaels jewelry aisle.

Twisted Sketches Card #56

It’s Saturday and time for another Twisted Sketches card sketch!! We are up to #56 and the twist is “yellow“, perfect for those who are stuck in rain, smoke, snow, all that wacky weather we just can’t shake. What is happier than perky yellow daffodils, forsythia, yellow tulips, happy pansies or even the spry dandelions splattered across the lawn? Little dots of sunshine shining from each corner of our landscape? So here’s my card–

Friends are flowers in Life's garden (twisted card sketch 56)

I started with a yellow cardstock base, trimmed to make a 4.25″x5.5″ folded card, and adhered a piece of DCWV paper from the Allegheny Plum pad, trimmed to 4″x5.25″. The lace is Wyla with a light walnut ink stain to age and the gathering released a little. The flowers are Prima with a covered brad center (this was received in a swap so not sure of the source, Sorry!). The sentiment was stamped on the yellow cardstock with Palette Hybrid ink Noir Black and is woodmounted from Inkadinkado. Those are creeping phlox around it. Another favorite sign of spring 🙂 .

The sketch and some fabulous examples by the design team may be found at http://www.twistedsketches.com.  And don’t forget to check out the design team call!!
Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Easter! Happy Crafting!
