Twisted Sketches Card #56

It’s Saturday and time for another Twisted Sketches card sketch!! We are up to #56 and the twist is “yellow“, perfect for those who are stuck in rain, smoke, snow, all that wacky weather we just can’t shake. What is happier than perky yellow daffodils, forsythia, yellow tulips, happy pansies or even the spry dandelions splattered across the lawn? Little dots of sunshine shining from each corner of our landscape? So here’s my card–

Friends are flowers in Life's garden (twisted card sketch 56)

I started with a yellow cardstock base, trimmed to make a 4.25″x5.5″ folded card, and adhered a piece of DCWV paper from the Allegheny Plum pad, trimmed to 4″x5.25″. The lace is Wyla with a light walnut ink stain to age and the gathering released a little. The flowers are Prima with a covered brad center (this was received in a swap so not sure of the source, Sorry!). The sentiment was stamped on the yellow cardstock with Palette Hybrid ink Noir Black and is woodmounted from Inkadinkado. Those are creeping phlox around it. Another favorite sign of spring 🙂 .

The sketch and some fabulous examples by the design team may be found at http://www.twistedsketches.com.  And don’t forget to check out the design team call!!
Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Easter! Happy Crafting!

To brighten your day–Twisted Sketches Card #54

To brighten your day--Twisted Sketches Card #54

It’s a Saturday and time for another Twisted Sketches Card Sketch! Find sketch number 54 here http://www.twistedsketches.com and this week’s twist is BRIGHT. This made me think of sunshine and how a well-timed greeting could bring a smile to someone’s day.
I started with a Ruby sheet from Recollections Jewel cardstock, trimmed to 4.25″ x 11″ and folded to make the card base. Then I trimmed some Bazzill pink textured cardstock to 4″x5.25″ for a background. The flower is made of ribbon from Michaels and Prima blossoms held together with a flower brad. The chipboard flourishes and tag are Heidi Grace add-ons from Fiskars (THANK YOU, Ellen!). The sentiment is a clear stamp from Scrappy Cat by Darice and stamped with Ranger Archival ink in Jet Black. My flourish and sentiment were rearranged a little from the sketch to better fit my card. The chipboards are self-adhesive and the background was attached with Tombow adhesive.

Special thanks to my MIL, Linda, for the loan of the happy little bunny to introduce this card to you.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

Twisted Sketches Card Sketch #50

In the Pretty Spring Time

It’s time for another card sketch at www.twistedsketches.com. This is card sketch #50 and the twist is “pretty”. I began with a cream cardstock base and topped that with a rose paper napkin that I trimmed to size. The mat and scalloped trim are DCWV textured cardstock, with the trim punched with a Martha Stewart around the page punch. The sentiment was handwritten on a piece of cream cardstock with Staedtler Triplus fineliner in black and matted on the green. These were edged with Whispers dye ink ini Whisper Sage. Add two layers of a bright pink Prima Daisy Doodle and a pink jeweled brad and Voila’.
Be sure to check out the sketch and the other design team work at www.twistedsketches.com.
Happy Crafting! -P

Twisted Sketches Card Sketch #40 and Welcome to 2011!

Oh my! How time does fly. I guess this is welcome to the future and I hope that 2011 is blessed in every way for you.
It’s time for a new card sketch at http://www.twistedsketches.com and the twist this week is “hope”.

Twisted Sketches card sketch 40–‘hope’

I’ve used a DCWV textured cardstock for a base. There are 3 patterned papers from Prima Breathe collection, the background and the two for the sentiment. The sentiment, “frame” and backdrop for them were cut with Slice from Making Memories and the Basic Essentials cartridge. The lace is salvaged and the buttons were in a grab bag from Michael’s.
I wanted to place a sentiment into the frame but had trouble deciding so I will share those I considered with you. (I LOVE quotes–please share your faves on “hope”).

*Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. ~Albert Einstein

*Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence.
~Lin Yutang

*Hope is a light diet, but very stimulating. ~Honore’ de Balzac

*All human wisdom is summed up in two words: wait and hope. ~Alexandre Dumas

So it was a difficult choice although I think any of those would work splendidly with this sketch. And those are only the ones I considered that used the word “hope”.
I “hope” you will try this sketch out and link back at http://www.twistedsketches.com so we can visit and see your lovely work. I also “hope” this will be a year where you will see many dreams come true and your troubles will be few. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Crafting! P.
